Congratulations to Nelly Furtado, and Kreesha Turner who have been nominated for a Juno Award 2013 by The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). The awards will air live on Sunday, April 21st on CTV.
Furtado received a nomination under the category of Pop Album of The Year for her 2012 release, Spirit Indestructible, co-written by Furtado herself and an array of collaborators from across the musical spectrum. Hip-hop songwriter-producer Salaam Remi, pop songwriter-producer Rodney Jerkin, veteran metal producer Bob Rock, Dutch DJ and EDM producer, Tiesto, producer and rock songwriter John Shanks, and Jamaican reggae producer Da Genius, are some of the collaborators.
Turner has garnered a nomination for anR&B Soul Recording award for her latest production, Tropic Electric, an album that depends heavily on the sounds of the music of the islands and on a Dance/ Electronica based style. The Tropic side, was produced by The Wizard for Calabash Productions while the Electric mix was recorded in L.A, Toronto, New York and Atlanta by producers, Erika Nuri and Greg Ogan of the writing camp, Mike James and Troy Samson of HipJoint Productions and Phil Tan with Canadian producer and pop star, Shawn Desmond, respectively.
